Natural color diamonds
The word diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning ‘unconquerable’. Diamonds are the hardest natural substance known to man. They can be cut or polished only by other diamonds. Ancient Romans thought that whoever wore a diamond on his or her left arm would become braver and more daring. The April birthstone has long been associated with courage, strength and fortitude.

Being the hardest gemstone, diamonds achieve the top spot -10- on Mohs scale of hardness. Due to its hardness, diamond is suitable for a number of important industrial applications, as well as, including serving as drill bits, glass cutters, cutting other diamonds and in construction of saw blades.

Natural color diamonds are renowned for their incomparable brilliance and broad palette of colors including pink, brown, red, purple, yellow, green and blue. The presence of color in these diamonds is entirely natural process ensuring that every stone is one of a kind.

Color Classification-
Diamonds are not truly colorless, but it’s the colorless often called white. The other shades of diamonds are judged against white color. GIA has devised a set of guidelines to grade diamond color. The commercial classification of colored diamonds uses the alphabet system ranging from D to Z. As the grades starts reaching Z, the price starts decreasing.
