Mark-Paul Gosselaar Engaged!

If you thought they don’t make that kind of men anymore, maybe you should read it further. Famous American actor, Mark-Paul Gosselaar always knew that whenever he would propose, he would do it with an engagement ring that is nothing less than perfect.

His jeweler said, “He’s a romantic at heart and he was looking to express it. I worked on creating her dream ring for about a month. She had seen a ring of mine and Mark-Paul brought in a photo of it and we started customizing it, finding the perfect stone, showing sketches, discussing the mounting and how many smaller diamonds it would have and really designing it together. It’s rare to find a guy who really wants to find the perfect ring and be so very involved in the process.”

The result of their working together was this romantic diamond engagement ring that has a fine 3-carat cushion cut diamond as the center stone. The huge rock is surrounded by smaller round diamonds and is precisely crafted in platinum. In all, the ring totals to approximately 5-carats.

And for all the ladies who dreamed of getting the most perfect engagement ring, well its time that we feel jealous of Catriona McGinn, Mark’s fiancĂ©e.

The prongs are slightly bent at the top to secure the diamond at its place. The number of prongs usually ranges from 2 to 6.

  2. Cathedral Setting – This setting might seem like prong setting at first look. However, it is quite unique and different. In a cathedral setting the shank of the ring splits to form arches. The open spaces and the beautiful arches lend an aesthetic and vintage appeal to the ring.

  3. Bezel Setting – This setting places the diamond in a metal ring without using prongs. The metal ring that encompasses the center diamond secures the diamond at its place and keeps it from falling.

Caring and Cleaning Tips for Diamond Jewelry

Jewelry store in Italy

Daily dust, hand lotion, perfumes and other cosmetics tend to leave a dirt film on diamond jewelry. That is why it is important to periodically clean your diamond jewelry. And all it requires is you to be a bit aware and cautious when you wear your jewelry and to clean it periodically.

Diamond as you might know is the hardest of the minerals. This means it doesn’t get scratched easily, however it can get cracked with a sharp blow. Below are few easy tips that will help you care for your diamond jewelry and always keep it sparkling.

1.    First and foremost as a thumb rule with any kind of jewelry, store it properly. So many times our jewelry gets scratched because we don’t store it well. Always use jewelry boxes or soft pouches to keep jewelry. If you have more than one piece of jewelry in one pouch then wrap them with a soft cloth or tissue so that they do not scratch each other. 2.     Always apply lotions, hand creams, perfumes and other cosmetics before you wear your jewelry. The cosmetics develop a thin film over the diamonds which lessens their luster.

3.    Avoid wearing jewelry especially your diamond earrings when doing any kind of physically intensive work. As also said earlier a hard blow can make the stone crack.

4.    It is advisable that you get your diamond jewelry examined by a professional jeweler once a year. Sometimes the setting of diamonds become loose, which can also cause the diamond to fall.

5.    Diamond Jewelry is safe to be cleaned with ultra sonic cleaners and steam cleaners.

Cleaning Diamond Jewelry at home
